The official Spokestzu of Spindletop
Hello, my name is Jules and I will be giving the updates for all the orphans here at the refuge. Since I am involved with all the "goings on" around here what better mutt to report our updates?! I know, you are thinking, what is this fur ball doing at a pit bull rescue, well, that is a long story in itself, I will let the humans explain that one to you. But I am here and have been for almost three whole years! I live with my mom and Julius (I "might" show you a picture of him one day when I am ready to share the spotlight) and make sure things are on the up and up!
That picture up above me, well, you have to know my Mom. She has issues. It hasn't rained here in a really long time, which it usually is always raining. Mom has been afraid of wild fires recently. Well, a really big storm came in the other night (but it didn't rain) and she grabs the camera and ME to go take pictures of the bright lights in the sky. Like we have never seen THAT before! She left that mutt Julius at home because he is afraid of everything, but I am NOT! I just sat there while she took her pictures and listened to her say bad words because it never rained. But she made sure everyone was OK. There are a couple of Orphans here that are afraid of thunder. I swear, big dogs are the biggest babies!
My Mom keeps talking about a drought, that is too big of a word for me but it has something to do with no water. We can't even go play in the pond anymore because the water went away. Maybe that is why she was mad that it didn't rain. She took some pictures of our dry ponds and creeks, it is really sad because all the fish died. : (
We've had a great 2011 so far with adoptions, a lot of Orphans have found their forever homes! I wish they could all find a home like mine.
I get to see new people here almost every day, and the dogs look really happy when they are going home with a new family. Please look at our wish list for anything you have sitting around, mom says even one thing would make a huge difference in the daily happiness of our orphans.
I will be the official spoketzus from here on out. I was given a second chance and I want the orphans here at Spindletop that were given the second chance to find a great home like I did. Even though I think the other dogs have "kooties", I do care about them and can't wait until someone like yourself is ready to welcome them into your family. Don't forget to become a Pit Pal! Look on the menu for "Sponsor an Orphan"!

Well, Mom said I can't give you an update until I show you the little Brat Julius, so here he is. I HOPE you enjoy, I am in time out from giving an update so you can grovel over him. Yuck, like what is so yucky cute about him anyway? Okay, get it over with, here he is and boy do I have some things to tell you in my next update! Yes, and much, much cuter pics of ME of course! ONE EMAIL about how cute Julius is and I will just have to Pit Pal you with an Orphan! This IS my page for updates you know, not that squirt! But I will draw the line with sharing my page with a ROOSTER! Is there a malfunction with the webmaster?? Oh!! I almost forgot, where are my manners..... We do have an additional "family" member named Lilly! She wasn't supposed to stay but she did not work out in the two adopted homes she went to.... Mom said she was naughty and they didn't like her (she is an old lady so she is just grumpy, I suppose). Well, she isn't naughty here and she really loves the rug rat Julius, they cuddle all the time, makes me gag. Whatever works for them! But I think she is pretty cool, not cuddling with her by any stretch of the imagination, dogs have kooties. But Mom likes her and since she is old, Mom doesn't want to try to place her again. She only has one eye because some bad man kicked her, but she LOVES my Mom! Again, whatever works for them! Here is her picture, she wears a sweater because she is cold all the time, jeez, what a weenie. Her friend in Cibalo sent it to her, she sponsors our Orphans here too. Now Lilly has fans. Julius, Lilly, what is this little world of mine coming to? This page is MY page and is getting full of chickens, Julius and now, Lilly....I am getting a new page and the people that keep writing and saying how cute the mutt Julius is, and now I am going to have to hear how cute Lilly is, well, just well. : ) Oh, wait, I can't forget about the Goat, Bully Goat, yes, well, he has to share this page too! <slapping my paw on my Fawn Locks>, these humans were taking a picture of Bully Goat and did not even see the Crane in the picture, well, they didn't see the Crane at all, period!!! Hello! I can only see out of one eye as well as Lilly and I saw the darn thing, : ) Look the left of the picture and I am blind in my left eye, whatever, you humans are just too goofy.
Lilly
Here is the little Squirt Julius
Alright, he IS pretty cute, but a pain in MY you know what! He is a little bigger now which makes him a bigger pain in my you know what. Enough about him, I already told him this is his one and final time "I" will allow him to have any recognition at all! This was really hard for me to do, Mom is giving me extra cookies for relenting to this false show of affection. I will get over it, I suppose, but feeling a little faint right now! Eating my munchie cookies and that will make me all better! : )
Here I am doing what I do best! Supervising!! I told you I make sure things are on the up and up! I even saw the Crane!!
