Meet Norma Jean!
 Norma Jean is a  wonderful dog who has been at Spindletop for a long while. She is a staff favorite and longs for a family to call her own.











GrouchoMarkie and Bruce came to Spindletop after they ended up in a kill shelter. The pair were so bonded that Leah decided Bruce had to go with his Groucho. Both dogs really need to be adopted together and are healthy young adults  just waiting for that special home. Do you have the love and room for two?







A few years ago an elderly gentleman knocked at the Spindletop gate. He had found Lucky as a stray and tried to keep her as his own. The older man was not a good match for what was then a boisterious pit bull puppy. Leah took Lucky in as she was afraid she would knock the man down by accident. She has been here at Spindletop ever since. She's now an older lady still waiting for that perfect date with destiny. Lucky is also special needs as she was born without a right eye. It has never bothered her and she still loves to fetch a ball and play on the Agility equipment.

Still Cleaning after Hurricaine Ike

We are still working as best we can to clean up and repair the damge left in Ike's wake. We are currently going 'round with Fema and the Insrance companies over who covers what damage. With Leah still recovering from her broken arm and fractured hip, we are still short staffed and have had to hire more day workers at a greater expense than our operating budget has at this point.  We can still use Wal-Mart, Lowe's or Home Depot gift cards.
