Below is only a few of our available orphans waiting to be your new family member. Please email if interested in adopting or would like to know about more of our orphans! Please keep checking back as we will be adding more orphans daily!
All of the orphans are crate and house trained, basic obedience, vaccinated, neutered/spayed, heartworm negative and on preventative. All of our orphans have been thoroughly temperament tested and are great ambassadors for the breeds!
Please make note: We do not adopt into same gender homes, Ex: If you have a female dog at home only male dogs will be available to you for adoption and vice versa.

My Pit Pal is D Taylor! : ) Well, here we are. I should not need to tell you anything, my happy little face says it all! I was rescued by my Pit Pal, along with Diamond literally hours before the big you know what. We were sent to Animal Control after another Rescue abandoned us and Mr. Taylor saved our lives and wanted us to have a chance of getting a great home. We have both lived in a home setting with other dogs and cats. It was pretty scary for a while being back at the shelter. We have traveled a long road and are looking for that road to end with you! Of course, I want you to pick ME over Diamond, but don't tell her I said that, she might just get a bit offended. ; ) I almost forgot, well, I am kinda selfish that way. Since the updates are overdue!! I decided to share the May Orphan of the Month with Mercie!!! Yea, Mercie! She is a neighbor of mine in Fort Worth but has been looking for a home as long as I have! What is wrong with you people, you have two great gals here, you know you just want to grab our little jawls and give us a BIG kiss! Oh, yea, and take us home so we can hog your bed too!

My Pit Pal is B McClatchey : ) Three year old female. Good with male dogs, NO cats. This is getting redundant, you already know the general consensus between US orphans about the ears, smaller dogs, bigger brains...well it is ALL true, you know. But look at me, I am the best of all of them! I am told that I am a "lineage" dog, again, ask the humans. I love smaller humans too, the smaller the better, I would make a great therapy dog as I am gentle when I know I am around gentle souls. I am very keen on my surroundings and always explore before I react to anything. As I said, I am the best of the best, well, in my opinion. I would love a family to call my own and the more smaller humans that are my family, the happier I will be!

Two year old female, mom to Blanca and Flynn (listed on our "other breeds" page). I know what you are thinking, there is an "ear" epidemic going around here at the refuge. Well, I am here to be the official "ear" dog. It is not an epidemic, we have EARS, big ones! And, it goes with our BIG brains, so just get past it. You know it makes us cuter than all the other orphans here, so get past your denial too! : ) I am a very outgoing, loyal and quite the attractive girl, as you can see. I am a smaller girl, but again, BIG ears, smaller dogs, BIGGER brains, are you seeing a pattern yet? You give me a human lap to lay in, I am there, like concrete, that is where I want to be, with my humans. Cuddle bug, I know, I have competition in that department, but I had to say it!!

My Pit Pals are C Randall, S Shepherd, Z Anderson : ) In case your read Kota's bio, he thinks he is all THAT, not....and getting a new girlfriend, whatever. I wasn't the one having a stroke when they took me on a walk by MY SELF. Getcha another girlfriend! ; ) As he said, we have both been house dogs and are well behaved, trained and love children. Aside from the fact that Mr. Wonderful wants to steal the spotlight, I am MUCH better! Just look at me, need I say more?

My Pit Pal is D Taylor! : ) Three year old female. Don't worry, my ears don't really look like this, the humans thought it would be oh so cute to put this picture on here. The picture below is what my ears really look like, but when I am excited and interested, well, my ears kinda perk up! So everyone gets a big haha because of the goofy humans that take care of me, that is ok, I AM as cute as I look though! See the picture below, I told you my ears don't always look that way! ; )

Hi everyone!! I am Kentucky, not for the State but for the CHICKEN! Not for a live one but good old Kentucky Fried Chicken (I know it isn't good for me but I couldn't resist it as it was offered to me when I was scared on the streets, smelled pretty good, took one bite and that was it!) So the whole fried, clogging up the artery days are over, but I am one happy girl! Even without the KFC! Darn, I should get some mula for promoting them! Well, here I am, I am a great girl, I like other animals but NO kitties!! Anything and everything else is OK in my book. I shared a home with a ChiWeenie with my foster family and loved cuddling and just being ME! I really want to have a happy home and would do anything to please you. I will make a wonderful new family member, I am obedient, house/crate trained and love just hanging out but will want to do anything that you want to do. As you can see! My Pit Pal is K Rentfro! : ) She is taking pictures for the Refuge. Basically, all the great pictures on here, not the goofy ones, were taken by her! She is wonderful and I love her and she is trying to help the Refuge find homes for me and all the orphans at Spindletop!You will see her name below the Pictures that she has taken. She is awesome!

My Pit Pal is G Goss : ) One year female, good with other dogs and animals. I am precious, just like you see. I am smart too, but I won't brag like the other girls, because when you have it, you don't need to brag! Don't worry, we all talk big talk, but we are all looking for the same thing, a family that deserves our loving, intelligent, little souls. OK, mushy stuff over! I like to PLAY!!! I want a job, name it, I can do it. I love humans of all ages, the more the better is what I say. Although this female page is getting a little competitive, Tink thinks she outshines everyone, although she is a pretty astonishing girl, I am just as brillant and stunning. I mean, just look at me, need I say more?

Eighteen month old female, NO cats, good with most male dogs. When you are hot, you are hot! I am high drive, super intelligent girl. Kinda like Super Dog! Has a nice ring to it, No? I am very focused on any task you want to ask of me, ask it of me and I will give you 200% better than any orphan here. Ol' Ollie, talking about kicking Dock Dog butt, I would leave him in the waves! I am a smaller girl but don't let my size fool you, I have more love, devotion and drive in this little heart of mine than any 100# dog on this planet.

My Pit Pal is V Weales! : ) Four year old female. Good with other dogs and most animals. "Do you hear what I hear?", probably not, because I hear things a lot farther away than you do! Trust me, I am not goofy like the picture. They just don't know how to take pictures around here, but...I AM that cute! I am a very, very outgoing girl. I need to be surfing, riding dune buggies, skate boarding..........it ALL sounds like fun to me! The more wild and crazy the better!! And guess what, I am so smart, I could learn to do ALL those things too! I just want a job and a family that is mine.

My Pit Pal is L. Sanders : ) Three year old female. Good with male dogs and other animals. OK folks, I do not care what the other orphans say about themselves or that little smooshed in faced "Jules". : ) I am the smartest most elegant dog at Spindletop! I get along with other dogs, cats, ducks, throw it my way, I love everything! And....I am probably smarter than ALL the humans here! (sshhh, don't tell them I said that) I have been here a long time and everyone passes me up because of my ears, imagine that. I have ears, so what, they are just a little bigger than everyone elses, so is my brain! I hate to brag, but I AM quite the catch. There is a family that deserves me, even if you think I look goofy, I make it up with loyalty, afftection and willing to make you happy.

My Pit Pal is N Lopez : ) Five year old female, good with males, loves children! Isn't my picture just the best.....NOT. They are supposed to be getting a better one soon. It was getting ready to storm, I knew it was going to rain, didn't want to get wet and out comes the camera, why are humans this way?? I mean really, who takes pictures when it is blasting thunder all around and expect ME to "smile" for the camera, I am thinking "inside, blankie, my dinner and my toys, hello????" They have issues. I am a red merle, but I don't have the "merle" issues. I have no problems with site or hearing. I am a very pretty girl with great qualities. Like Netty, I go out of my way to do NO wrong. I am obedient and wanting to make you happy, well, except when you do the things like the humans at the refuge, take pictures in storms! : )

Three year old female, good with submissive males, NO CATS! Heya! Looking for a great girl in your life? I am the one, I am an outgoing girl with drive for tracking and SAR. I would excell at either. I am also thinking that the girls here are getting a little slammed on the whole cat thing. You have to understand, we, terriers, like it when things move fast, kinda like cats like it when you have some feather thing on the end of a string. Yea, we see it ALL around here, totally get it. But, the cats get to go after the things they chase, totally unfair in our department! I will speak to management about that!! I am also a 'lineage" dog, it is supposed to be something special, I dunno, I just know I want a family to call my own and I speak for the other girls as well. WAIT, you do see how striking and beautiful

Three year old female, good with dogs and cats. OK, I am here with Tella, we LIKE cats, nah, nah!! I am the all around, get along with everyone great kid. I have the ears, the look and the brains. I am the seeing eye dog for my blind boyfriend, his name is "Brindle". I just love him, I take care of him, although, he can be a little pain in the butt at times, but he is so cute, I can't get mad at him! I am very patient and loving. I would make a great therapy dog and I get credit for CATS!! How about that??
